Getting Started

The minimum age is 18 in order to create a Verropay account.

To create and access your Verropay account, you will need a mobile device and a unique phone number. We use your phone number to verify your account and make sure that only you can access your card money. When you create or log in to an account, we’ll send an SMS code to verify that your account is linked to the right mobile phone number.

Plaid is a financial service used to authenticate your information and securely link your bank account to your Verropay account. Plaid keeps your personal information safe through the combination of the Advanced Encryption Standard(AES-256) and Transport Layer Security (TLS). In the user account settings tab, which is located in the upper left-hand corner of the home page, you can edit information about yourself. In the user account settings, you can quickly change or update the username, password, account image, and banking information. 

Verropay is a US financial technology service currently available to US residents only. You’ll need to be in the US to create your account. 

What is Verropay?

Verropay is a financial platform for the next generation. We’ll help you get started with a prepaid Verropay Visa Card and an account you can easily manage from your Verropay app. Spend, send card money, track spending, and start building up reward points with Verropay! With prepaid virtual cards, you can start sending anywhere and with anyone you like.

Verropay is not a bank. Verropay is a payment app built especially for individuals and groups of people looking to share expenses and split the costs. We like to think of ourselves as a mobile payment experience made up of an app, a Verropay account, and a Verropay prepaid Visa card.

 

We make it easy to do the things you need most like deposit money to your virtual card through direct deposit, keep track of your spending, and send card money to friends and family. We also provide reward points for when you spend with the prepaid card individually or as a group.

 

We provide a high level of security so you can be confident that your money and private info are safe and secure. Our banking products and services are provided through Pathward® N.A., Member FDIC, pursuant to a license from Visa USA Inc.

Although we try to create the best user experience for users like you, we do have some fees associated with the usage of Verropay and the prepaid Visa card. The fees can be found in the Verropay Cardholder Agreement. 

Every purchase you make with your Verropay card is also protected by VISA’s Zero Liability Policy, which means you’ll never be responsible for charges you didn’t authorize. Plus, we’ve built in bank-level security and data encryption so that your personal info and account are safe.

Verropay does not charge any fees when paying with the prepaid Visa card. Merchant service fees or taxes may be charged.

Want to bring your friends to Verropay too? You can earn referral reward points when they sign up using your link. Just send them an invite from your app, and you’ll both get rewarded once they meet the eligibility requirements.

Verropay Visa Card

Once you verify your account and link a bank account, you can create a virtual Verropay card from within the app that you can use online or in-store instantly. You can also add your virtual card to digital wallet providers like Apple Pay and Google Pay. (Please note that these services may have age restrictions)

You’ll need to load some money unto your prepaid Verropay card in order to start spending. Adding money is easy! Here are your options:

  • Link a bank account to your Verropay account and instantly add funds. Funds are available within seconds. 

  • Link a bank account to your Verropay account and transfer funds by direct deposit (arrives in 1-3 business days).

You can check your balance right from your Verropay app. Open your app and tap into your account – your balance will be listed at the top on your home tab. This balance updates in real-time as soon as merchants charge your card, so it will always be up to date!

You can send money via a prepaid Visa card to anyone else with a Verropay account. The process is so simple, we bet you can do it in under 30 seconds:

  • Open your Verropay account and tap Send Money at the top of the screen

  • Search for the username or phone number of the friend you’re sending money to and select the account

  • Select which Bank Account to use for payment

  • Enter the amount, leave a note, and Review

  • Double-check the details, and hit Send

You can link an external bank account so you can easily add money to your Verropay account, and instantly start spending!

Here’s how:

  • Open your Verropay account and tap on the user account icon at the top left-hand corner of the screen

  • Scroll down to Bank Accounts and tap Add a Bank Account

  • Follow the log in and link your account

We take your security seriously! Verropay does not see or store your bank account credentials. This information is processed by Plaid, a payment processing company.

Verropay Visa prepaid cards are not allowed to be used at any ATM or for cash access.

When you pay for gas with a credit card, the gas station will pre-authorize a larger amount to make sure you can pay to fill your tank. Usually, the hold will be released as soon as you’re charged for the amount of gas you actually bought, but sometimes it can take a full day or longer.

Next time, you can tell the gas station attendant the amount of money you want to spend on gas or enter that exact amount at the gas pump.
